The Joe Greenslade Scholarship Fund is for deserving students who are typically the first member of their family to attend college.
Thank You to everyone who has donated and especially to the Class of ‘65 for raising $15,000 for the JG Scholarship Fund! Because of your generosity, over $28,000 in scholarships have been granted to students from the class of 2022, 2023, and 2024.

A letter from Rix Quinn…
Dear fellow Paschal graduates,
As you know, Paschal’s current students have had two tough years struggling to keep up their grades, and keep themselves and their families healthy.
For financially-challenged students, things are even tougher. They not only have to graduate, but they must also choose a career – or a college – and pay tuition in the next few years.
That’s why Joe Greenslade, Risa Payne, Bill West and I started the PHS Educational Foundation about ten years ago…to award small Opportunity Scholarships that help these students get additional schooling.
Our group is now part of the Paschal Enrichment Foundation. Each spring, we try to help several deserving graduates start training at Tarrant County College or other schools.
Your $300 or $500 donation could make a life-changing difference for an Opportunity Scholarship winner. May I tell you more about this?
Just call me at 817-920-7999. I’ll tell you some personal stories about some fantastic students we’ve helped.
I look forward to hearing from you.

A little about Joe…
In high school one morning, long-time friend Marilyn Maples cornered Joe Greenslade, a popular Paschal senior and football team captain. “My Dad wants to see you,” she said. Joe asked, “Why? I haven’t done anything wrong.” Marilyn laughed and said, “Of course not. Dad wants to talk to you about college.” That got Joe’s attention…and he later said it changed his life. Joe’s father died when he was five, and his mother died when he was 12. He was raised by his grandmother, Virginia Jones. Joe graduated from R.L. Paschal High School in 1966. Because of the kindness and generosity of Marilyn’s father, Weldon Maples, Joe was able to attend Texas A&M University on an Opportunity Scholarship, where he earned a B.A. in business administration. Another early mentor, Jim Walker, helped Joe get his first job at CAMCAR, a fastener company, in 1970. Joe worked in the fastener industry for over 40 years. When Joe started at CAMCAR they did not have a training program, so Joe read everything he could about the business, and then developed an employee's manual which he gave to the company. At the age of 30, he founded Greenslade and Company, a manufacturers' rep, testing and calibration firm which he ran until he sold the company in 2007. After selling his company, Joe was hired as the director of engineering technology at the Industrial Fastener Institute, a position he held until 2016. Hoping to make the kind of positive impact on young people that Mr. Maples had on him, Joe's retirement included reading with students at Lily B. Clayton Elementary School, and mentoring students at Paschal as an active member of the AVID program. He founded the PHS Educational Foundation, and the Panther Heroes program. Today’s Joe Greenslade Opportunity Scholarships honor his memory, and have provided thousands of dollars to outstanding, financially challenged Paschal students.
